Before We Start
- Contents. Move out livestock, hay, feed, fuel, and chemicals. Tell us what is still inside and we will quote around it.
- Salvage. Tell us before we start if you want to keep boards, tin, or beams. Old barn wood is easier to save before the building comes down.
- Utilities. Have power shut off at the meter, and tell us where water lines and wells run near the building.
- Old materials. Older corrugated panels, roofing, and paint can contain asbestos or lead. If your building is old, we will tell you if something needs testing first.
- Permit. Inside city limits, expect a demolition permit. In unincorporated areas the rules are lighter, and we confirm with the right office before we schedule.

Barn And Shed Demolition FAQ
Can I just burn the old barn?
Usually not. Texas rules bar burning treated lumber, roofing shingles, and other non-wood demolition material, and a burn ban or city limit can stop a burn outright. Most barns include at least some of those materials, so we take the building down and haul it off.
Can you tear down a storm damaged or leaning barn?
Yes. If it is an insurance claim, leave the building alone until your adjuster has documented the damage. A leaning building can fall without warning, so keep people and animals away until we arrive.
